This counts down to when the federal review window opens. It is not a sales deadline. You can review and stay.
Plans do not keep every doctor forever. Advantage networks, in particular, get rebuilt. A name you used in March can be gone in January and nobody calls you about it except a line in a thick letter.
Original Medicare plus Supplement is a different shape: you can typically see anyone who accepts Medicare. That is why some people pay more monthly for that path. It is not automatically “better.” It is more portable if you will not give up certain people.
Check the humans, not the brand
Primary care. The specialists you saw this year. The hospital you would actually use. If you split time between Henderson and another state, say so. “In network in Clark County” does not help you in another county.
Call the office and ask if they will take your plan next year. Do not trust last year’s card. Do not trust a mailer that says “thousands of doctors.”
What happens if you skip this
You keep the plan. January 1 arrives. The office says they are not in network. Now you are paying differently, or you are finding a new doctor while you are sick. That is the failure mode. It is avoidable in October.
