01 · Travel & International

Your health insurance probably stops at the border.

Most U.S. health plans — including Medicare — provide little or no coverage once you leave the country. Whether it’s a two-week trip or a new life abroad, the right plan costs less than people expect and beats finding out the hard way.

02 · Which one

Two different problems, two different plans.

Trips

Travel medical

Vacations, cruises, visiting family, mission trips, destination weddings. Emergency care, doctors, and hospital stays while you’re abroad — often less than the checked-bag fees on the same trip.

Living abroad

International health

Expats, remote workers, students, families relocating. Full coverage built for life outside the U.S., with international provider networks.

Not sure which fits? That’s a five-minute conversation.

03 · Who this catches

The people who need this most rarely know it.

Medicare travelers

This one surprises people

Original Medicare generally doesn’t cover care outside the U.S., and Advantage plans typically limit foreign coverage to emergencies at best. If retirement includes travel, this belongs in the conversation — and we handle both sides.

Family visits

It feels like going home

Long stays with relatives abroad are the trips people forget to cover. Your U.S. plan doesn’t know the difference.

Long stays

Snowbirds and months abroad

That gap between a vacation policy and expat coverage. There are plans built precisely for this.

Students & remote

A semester or a year

More than a weekend travel policy, less than you’d think.

04 · Questions

Straight answers.

Doesn't my credit card cover this?

Some cards include limited travel protections, usually focused on trip cancellation and baggage. Medical coverage, when present, is often capped far below a real emergency abroad.

Does Medicare cover me outside the U.S.?

With rare exceptions, Original Medicare does not. Some Supplement plans include limited foreign-travel emergency benefits, and Advantage plans vary. If you’re on Medicare and you travel, ask — coordinating the two is exactly what we do.

What does travel medical typically cost?

It depends on age, trip length, destination, and coverage level. Short-trip policies frequently cost less than a nice dinner out.

What if something happens mid-trip?

These plans include assistance services — helplines, provider locators, coordination — so you’re not navigating a foreign hospital system alone.
